[05-05-2024] Two People Injured After Suspected Two-Vehicle DUI Collision Along Highway 99Two people were injured after a suspected two-vehicle DUI collision in Fresno on Sunday evening, May 5, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the traffic crash occurred around the area of Highway 99 and Olive Avenue.

CHP reported that a Toyota MR2 sports car struck a Tacoma pickup truck as it entered the freeway from the onramp. Both vehicles were wrecked following the incident.

The driver of the MR2 sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash, while the Tacoma driver suffered minor injuries. 

The cause of the accident remains under investigation, but authorities believe that driver impairment is a factor. In the meantime, it has been confirmed that the MR2 driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
