[05-04-2025] High School Student Killed in Suspected DUI Crash in Manhattan BeachAn 18-year-old high school student was killed following a suspected DUI crash in Manhattan Beach early Sunday morning, May 4, 2025.

According to the Manhattan Beach Police Department, officers were dispatched around 12:50 a.m. to the 100 block of South Sepulveda Boulevard, where they located a victim lying in the street next to a vehicle. Paramedics transported the victim to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Authorities identified the victim as Braun L.i, a senior at Loyola High School who was a team captain and four-year varsity tennis starter. He had recently won his fourth consecutive league championship on April 29th.

Police arrested 33-year-old Jenia B. of Los Angeles on suspicion of DUI causing injury and murder.
