According to the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department, the collision happened around 7:16 p.m. near the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Lion Street. 

Authorities stated that a 66-year-old man was hit by a 2015 Nissan Rogue. The vehicle was driven by Ricardo A., a 33-year-old resident of Riverside. 

Initial reports show that the Nissan was heading east on Foothill Boulevard when it suddenly veered off the roadway and collided with the victim. The severity of the incident led to suspicion regarding the driver’s state, indicating that the driver was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol during the collision. 

As the investigation progressed, Ricardo A. was charged with a violation of driving under the influence of alcohol. Meanwhile, the victim sustained injuries and is currently in critical but stable condition.

Further information regarding the collision is yet to be released by the authorities. Investigations are ongoing.
