[05-04-2024] Pedestrian Killed After Getting Hit by Car Following Three-Vehicle Crash Along Highway 99A pedestrian was killed after getting hit by a car following a three-vehicle crash in Sacramento early Saturday morning, May 4, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident happened at about 4:15 a.m. along the southbound lanes of Highway 99, north of Fruitridge Road.

CHP specifies the three vehicles involved as a 2013 Honda with a 32-year-old driver, a 2009 Toyota driven by a 22-year-old man from Elk Grove, and a 2013 Toyota driven by a 64-year-old man from Grass Valley. It is still unknown which vehicle/s struck the pedestrian. 

The pedestrian, who remains unidentified, was declared dead at the scene. What the victim was doing at the time of the collision remains unclear. 

None of the drivers involved were injured, as per the CHP. No arrests have been made yet at the time of this writing.

The cause of the incident is under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact the authorities.
