According to the San Francisco Police Department, officers responded to the crash at approximately 5:49 p.m. at the intersection of Eighth and Howard streets.

The motorcyclist was treated by emergency responders at the scene and transported to a hospital for further care. The driver of the truck remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

A bus driver with the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency who witnessed the collision reported that the truck hit the motorcycle while attempting to swerve away from another vehicle making a sudden maneuver.

Bus routes were temporarily redirected in the area, and police advised motorists to avoid the scene during the ongoing investigation.
