Two people were critically injured following an ATV crash at the Dove Springs OHV Area near Cantil, north of California City, on Saturday evening, May 3, 2025.
According to the Kern County Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched for an off-road rescue at approximately 7:43 p.m.
Upon arrival, officials discovered that two individuals had been ejected from their side-by-side ATV after crashing without the use of safety restraints.
Authorities said the injured victims were transported to a hospital for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation.
