[05-03-2024] Two People Injured Following Two-Vehicle Collision Involving Hit-And-Run in TurlockTwo people were injured following a two-vehicle collision involving a hit-and-run in Turlock on Friday afternoon, May 3, 2024.

According to the Turlock Police Department, the collision happened around 2:57 p.m. at Vermont Avenue and Spruce Street. 

Authorities stated that a white SUV collided with another vehicle. Following the collision, the driver of the SUV failed to stop and fled the scene. 

One of the victims pursued the suspect’s vehicle in the 3000 block of Spruce Street and approached its driver, who turned out to be a 14-year-old Hispanic male from Turlock. The driver and another occupant of the victim’s vehicle sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital. 

Following the investigation, the Hispanic boy was charged with driving without a valid license and failing to stop at the scene, resulting in injury or death. He was then arrested and sent to Stanislaus County Juvenile Hall. 

No further information was released, and the authorities are gathering all necessary information to determine the cause of the crash.
