According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the incident occurred at about 8:20 p.m. along Chester Avenue near 4th Street.

Police said that a motorcycle carrying two people crashed into a vehicle for still unknown reasons, resulting in both the rider and the passenger sustaining moderate injuries. It was unclear if the driver of the vehicle involved was injured.

The southbound traffic on Chester Avenue at 4th Street was blocked as a precaution.

BPD is still investigating the cause of the accident. No further details were immediately available.
