According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 7:24 a.m. on I-80 East near the Ashby Avenue offramp. 

Authorities stated that a silver sedan was traveling at an unknown speed when it crashed into a cement wall. The vehicle was found on the right-hand side of the roadway, indicating a severe impact caused by the collision. 

Police said that one person was pronounced dead at the scene, and another was taken to the hospital for immediate treatment. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the investigators. 

No further details were released, and the authorities are gathering all necessary information to determine the cause of the crash. Investigations are ongoing.
