[04-30-2026] Merced County, CA – 10-Year-Old Killed in Collision with Truck on Bridgewater St. in Atwater

A 10-year-old boy was killed in a collision between his bicycle and a truck in Atwater on Thursday evening, April 30, 2026.

According to the Atwater Police Department, officers were called to the scene around 7:15 p.m. in the 2200 block of Bridgewater Street.

Authorities reported that the young bicyclist sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle involved in the crash was a truck, but additional details regarding the vehicle and driver were not immediately available.

The Atwater Police Department is investigating the incident.
