[04-30-2024] Female Driver Killed, Three Others Injured Following Car Vs. Truck Collision Near LancasterA female driver was killed, and three others were injured following a car vs. truck collision near Lancaster on Tuesday morning, April 30, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 7:25 a.m. at SR-138 and 90th Street West. 

Authorities stated that the driver of a 2005 Toyota was heading southbound on 90th Street West when her vehicle collided with a 2015 Freightliner truck approaching westbound on SR-138. 

Police stated that the Toyota driver, identified as Sherril D., 66, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her two juvenile passengers sustained major injuries and were taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center for immediate treatment. The driver of the truck was transported to Antelope Valley Medical Center with minor injuries. 

It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash. Anyone with information about the accident is urged to contact the police at 661-948-8541 or 323-259-3200.
