A woman was killed after a pedestrian vs. vehicle collision in southeast Fresno in the early hours of Tuesday, April 30, 2024.
According to the Fresno Police Department, the crash occurred just before 12:30 a.m. in front of the Mosqueda Community Center along Butler Avenue and near Sierra Vista Avenue.
Upon arrival, responders saw the woman lying in the roadway and pronounced her dead at the scene shortly after. Witnesses then told the police that the victim, who was later confirmed as a part of the unhoused community, was moving in and out of the road when a car struck her.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Currently, the driver is being investigated for DUI.
