Two 4-year-old twin sisters were struck by a vehicle near Cooper Elementary School in Vallejo on Monday afternoon, April 2, 2026.
According to the Vallejo City Unified School District, the incident occurred around 1:40 p.m. at the intersection of Tuolumne Street and Del Mar Avenue, shortly after school dismissal.
The sisters were leaving the school with their 76-year-old grandmother when they were hit by a van. Emergency responders assessed the family at the scene, and while the girls were not critically injured, they were taken to Sutter Solano Medical Center for further evaluation.
The van driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. The school district has stated that it is in communication with the family and is reviewing safety measures across its campuses.
The investigation is ongoing.
