[04-27-2024] Man Killed Following Pedestrian vs. Vehicle Collision Along Highway 58 in BakersfieldA man was killed following a pedestrian vs. vehicle collision in Bakersfield early Saturday afternoon, April 27, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal incident occurred at about 1:15 p.m. along Highway 58.

A 24-year-old Honda driver was slowing down to take Union Avenue off-ramp when a pedestrian reportedly ran into the path of the vehicle.

The man was declared dead at the scene, while the Honda driver was unharmed. The identity of the deceased has yet to be disclosed.

Alcohol and drugs were dismissed as factors in the fatal collision. The authorities are currently conducting an investigation.
