[04-26-2025] Woman Seriously Injured in Head-On Crash With Fuel Tanker on Highway 29 Near Lower LakeA woman sustained major injuries following a head-on crash involving a fuel tanker truck and a sedan near Lower Lake, Lake County, early Saturday morning, April 26, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol Clear Lake Area office, the collision was reported at approximately 3:55 a.m. on Highway 29 north of Hofacker Lane.

Authorities determined that Brenda Lee Sandage, 64, was driving northbound on Highway 29 when she entered the oncoming traffic lane directly ahead of the fuel tanker.

Sandage was transported by air ambulance to Kaiser Vacaville for treatment of major injuries. The driver of the fuel tanker truck was uninjured.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and it is unknown if alcohol or drugs were contributing factors.
