[04-23-2024] 61-Year-Old Driver Hospitalized Following Vehicle Vs. Truck Collision in BoronA 61-year-old driver was hospitalized following a vehicle vs. truck collision in Boron, Kern County, on Tuesday afternoon, April 23, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 4:00 p.m. on 20 Mule Team Road and James St. 

Reports say that a silver Toyota Solara driven by 61-year-old Tony S. of Boron was heading on 20 Mule Team Rd. when it collided with a waste management trash truck attempting to make a U-turn. Because of the impact of the collision, the Toyota spun and crashed into a huge light pole. The vehicle eventually ended up in front of the Boron Senior Center building. 

Police said that the victim was removed from the vehicle and transported to the nearest hospital. Anyone with information is urged to contact the authorities at 1-661-823-5500 during normal business hours.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No further information was released.
