A 3-year-old passenger was injured following a DUI vehicle collision in Twain Harte, Tuolumne County, on Monday evening, April 22, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 10:20 p.m. in the 23200 block of Joaquin Gully Road, east of Cherokee Drive.
Authorities stated that a 27-year-old Sonora woman was driving a 2023 Mazda 3 sedan at around 55 miles per hour, approaching eastbound in the 23200 block of Joaquin Gully Road. The driver lost control of her vehicle and then crashed into a tree.
Police said the child sitting in the back seat suffered minor injuries. The investigation determined that the driver was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. She was arrested on multiple felony DUI charges, causing great bodily injuries.
