According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the traffic incident happened just before 8:00 p.m. near South Santa Fe Avenue and North Rancho Santa Fe Road.

Authorities stated that they received reports that a driver of a blue Honda SUV was going along eastbound South Santa Fe Road on the wrong way, eventually leading to a head-on collision with a red Honda SUV and a white Toyota.

Inside the red Honda was a family of three: a 24-year-old father, a 22-year-old mother, and their infant, who was secured in a car seat. All three were taken to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. The parents were transported to Palomar Medical Center while their child was brought to Rady Children’s Hospital for further evaluation.

The Toyota only had its 46-year-old driver inside when the incident occurred. Authorities allegedly examined the Toyota driver for any possible injuries, but none were found.

The wrong-way driver of the blue Honda SUV, only identified as a 29-year-old man, suffered major injuries and was also transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Authorities are currently looking at the possibility of alcohol impairment as a factor in the collision. No arrests have been made yet.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation.

The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
