According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal incident occurred before 8:20 p.m. between Valley Center Road and West Tribal Road.

Reports indicate that a 34-year-old Hispanic driver traveling in a white Ford Expedition collided with a white Toyota Camry.

The 19-year-old man driving the Toyota was declared dead at the scene. He was identified as a Hispanic resident of Valley Center.

The Ford driver, Fernando Porras A., was unharmed. He was booked into the Vista Detention Facility on multiple charges, including DUI.

The authorities are still conducting an investigation into the fatal collision.
