[04-16-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Motorcyclist Left in Critical Condition After Crash with Car in Gardena

A motorcyclist is in critical condition after a crash with a car in Gardena on Thursday evening, April 16, 2026.

The crash was reported at around 8:05 p.m. at the intersection of El Segundo Boulevard and Purche Avenue.

According to Gardena Police Department Traffic Bureau Lt. Matt Hassoldt, officers arrived to find the motorcyclist unconscious in the roadway with significant injuries.

The rider was transported to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center by Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel and remains in critical condition. The driver of the sedan was not injured. 

The Gardena Police Department’s Traffic Bureau is investigating the crash.
