[04-15-2025] One Killed in Fiery Motorcycle Crash on I-15 Near Mira Mesa Boulevard in Scripps RanchOne person was killed in a fiery crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV on northbound Interstate 15 in Scripps Ranch, San Diego, on Tuesday afternoon, April 15, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist had been traveling at high speed around 4:00 p.m. when the motorcycle collided with a silver Lexus SUV just south of Mira Mesa Boulevard. Following the impact, the motorcycle fell onto the roadway and caught fire.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the deceased was the motorcyclist or another individual.

The CHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
