[04-14-2026] Santa Barbara County, CA – Woman Killed, Child Injured in Crash on Highway 166

A woman was killed, and a small child was injured in a single-vehicle accident west of New Cuyama in Santa Barbara County, on Tuesday evening, April 14, 2026.

According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the crash was reported at 6:44 p.m. on Highway 166 near Rinconada Ranch.

The woman and a three-year-old child were riding in a Ford Fusion when it overturned. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and the child was transported to Marian Medical Center in Santa Maria for treatment.

The identities of the victims have not been released. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
