A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the eastbound 210 Freeway in Arcadia on Sunday night, April 12, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported around 9:31 p.m. at Madre Street when a driver called to report possibly hitting a person in the roadway.
Another witness stated that the pedestrian had been running across lanes of traffic when they were struck. The victim was found in the slow lane and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities issued a SigAlert at 10:45 p.m., shutting down all eastbound lanes at Madre Street and diverting traffic off the freeway. The HOV lane and lanes 1 and 2 were reopened at approximately 12:26 a.m., and all remaining lanes were reopened by 1:30 a.m.
The incident remains under investigation by the CHP.
