[04-11-2026] Santa Clara County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle in San Jose

A man was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Almaden Expressway in San Jose on Saturday night, April 11, 2026.

According to the San Jose Police Department, officers responded to the incident at around 9:45 p.m. on South San Jose Avenue.

Investigators determined that a man driving a 2008 Toyota sedan southbound struck a man crossing the expressway. The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk at the time of the incident.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released pending formal identification and next of kin notification by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.

The driver, who remained at the scene, displayed signs of alcohol intoxication and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The incident remains under investigation.
