A man was killed, and another person was hospitalized after a head-on collision south of Salinas in Monterey County early Friday morning, April 11, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred shortly after 1:00 a.m. along Abbott Street near the Mann Packaging facility. The two vehicles collided head-on, resulting in fatal injuries to one of the drivers.
The deceased victim was identified as 53-year-old Humberto C. of Soledad. The other person involved in the crash was transported to Natividad for treatment, though their condition remains unknown.
CHP confirmed that the off-ramp from northbound Highway 101 to Abbott Street was temporarily closed due to the crash.
The incident remains under investigation, and no further details have been released.
