[04-10-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Car Left in Flames After Hit-and-Run Crash on 101 Freeway in Downtown LA.webpA car was left in flames following a hit-and-run crash on the 101 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles early Friday morning, April 10, 2026.

The collision occurred around 1:30 a.m. on the northbound side of the freeway near Alameda Street. 

The driver of the burning Honda was able to exit the vehicle safely and was not injured, according to a California Highway Patrol spokesperson. 

The second vehicle, described as a truck, fled the scene after the crash. No further details about the vehicle or its driver were immediately available.

Los Angeles Fire Department crews were on-site to extinguish the flames, while traffic came to a standstill behind the burning vehicle. The freeway was reopened shortly after 2 a.m. 

The investigation into the hit-and-run remains ongoing.
