[04-09-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Vehicle on Hollywood Freeway

A man in his 40s was fatally struck by at least one vehicle on the Hollywood (101) Freeway near Gower Street in Los Angeles County, early Thursday morning, April 9, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers were called to the northbound freeway and the Gower Street on-ramp at around 12:42 a.m.

When they arrived, they found the pedestrian lying in the fourth lane. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending positive identification and notification of his next of kin, according to the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
