[04-07-2026] San Diego County, CA – Elderly Couple Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash in Escondido

An elderly couple was killed following a two-vehicle crash in Escondido on Tuesday afternoon, April 7, 2026.

According to the county Medical Examiner’s Office, David W., 80, and his wife, Connie W., 79, were fatally injured shortly before 1 p.m. on Citracado Parkway, just southwest of Interstate 15 and State Route 78. 

Investigators report that the sedan driven by Connie collided with another vehicle.

Paramedics transported both victims to Palomar Medical Center, where David was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Connie died the following afternoon.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
