A multi-vehicle crash occurred on southbound Highway 68 near San Benancio Road in Salinas on Thursday afternoon, April 3, 2025.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the collision happened around 2:30 p.m. and caused major congestion in the area.
According to traffic data from Google Maps, the drive from Salinas to Monterey was estimated to take over 40 minutes, while the reverse route from Monterey to Salinas was projected to exceed an hour.
The roadway has since been cleared, but the cause of the crash remains under investigation. Authorities have not yet released details about any potential injuries.
