A 52-year-old woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle in the Fairmont Park neighborhood, San Diego County, on Sunday afternoon, March 31, 2024.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision occurred around 4:57 p.m. near the intersection of Home Avenue and Gateway Drive.
Authorities stated that a 32-year-old woman in a 2020 Honda Pilot was driving northbound on Home Avenue approaching the intersection. The vehicle then struck a 52-year-old woman who was walking eastbound on Home Avenue.
Police said the victim was transported to the hospital, where she later died due to her injuries. It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
No further details were released, and the authorities are gathering all necessary information to determine the cause of the accident.
