A passenger was killed, and two other occupants were injured after a silver Range Rover crashed into a tree on the westbound lanes of I-580 near the 14th Avenue exit in Oakland on Sunday afternoon, March 30, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at approximately 2:55 p.m.
The front passenger sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was transported to a hospital, though their condition remains unknown.
A third occupant of the SUV, identified as a minor, is expected to survive and recover from the injuries sustained.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
