[03-28-2024] One Person Killed Following Three-Vehicle Collision Near TaftOne person was killed following a three-vehicle collision near Taft on Thursday morning, March 28, 2024.

According to the Taft Police Department, the deadly crash happened at about 5:15 a.m. along Highway 33, just north of Cadet Road and south of Taft.

The victim, a male, was the only one injured in the accident. He was transported from the scene to Mercy Southwest Hospital in Bakersfield, where he was pronounced dead. The authorities did not disclose the identity of the deceased immediately.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. TPD believes that alcohol was not a factor in the incident.
