[03-24-2025] Bicyclist Injured in Crash with Van on Madison Avenue in OrangevaleA woman riding a bicycle was hospitalized after being struck by a van while crossing Madison Avenue in Orangevale, Sacramento County, on Monday evening, March 24, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 8:25 p.m. The woman was riding southbound across the crosswalk at Madison Avenue and Beauregard Way when she was hit by a van.

She sustained moderate to major injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Her current condition has not been disclosed.

CHP stated it was unclear who had the right of way at the time of the collision, but confirmed the van struck the bicyclist while she was in the crosswalk.

The driver of the van remained at the scene and was not injured. Authorities do not believe DUI was a factor in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation by the CHP.
