According to the San Diego Police Department, officers responded around 5:20 a.m. to reports of the incident in the 4600 block of Pacific Highway.

The pedestrian was transported to a hospital in unknown condition, though he was reported to be unconscious with multiple injuries at the time. His identity and age were not immediately available.

Pacific Highway was closed in both directions between Rosecrans Street and SeaWorld Drive, and drivers were advised to avoid the area.
