[03-20-2025] San Bernardino County, CA – Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Two Vehicles on Hesperia Road

A man was fatally struck by two vehicles while crossing Hesperia Road near Donert Street, just south of Bear Valley Road in Hesperia on Thursday night, March 20, 2025, 

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, emergency personnel responded to the incident at approximately 8:47 p.m. and found the unresponsive man lying in the roadway.

Bystanders performed CPR before the man was transported to a hospital in Victorville, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Peter Laureano, a local property manager, identified the man as “Oz,” a familiar homeless individual in the area. He reported that the man was possibly intoxicated and had been attempting to cross the road after finding a nearby liquor store closed.

Witnesses said both vehicles involved remained at the scene. One car had noticeable front-end damage, including a shattered windshield and a broken headlight.

The Hesperia Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances of the fatal collision.
