A 48-year-old woman sustained major injuries in a hit-and-run incident in Modesto on Tuesday morning, March 18, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers were dispatched at approximately 7:20 a.m. to S. 7th Street, south of Blankenburg Avenue.
Upon arrival, a woman was found lying on the west dirt shoulder of the roadway with no associated vehicle nearby. The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment of major injuries.
An investigation conducted by CHP determined that the suspect had been traveling southbound on S. 7th Street when the victim was struck and the driver fled the scene. The suspect, identified as a 24-year-old woman, was arrested one week later on Tuesday.
