A collision between a Kia Rio and a Subaru Outback was reported in Alturas, Modoc County, on Saturday evening, March 14, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 6:06 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 243 (Baldpate Drive) and County Road 236 (Wood Duck Lane).
Alexis T., 28, of Alturas, was driving a Kia Rio southbound on County Road 243 when she attempted to turn east onto Wood Duck Lane directly in front of a westbound Subaru Outback driven by Erik P., 37, of Alturas.
The Subaru struck the left side of the Kia. Alexis was the sole occupant of the Kia, while the Subaru carried two passengers: Karen P., 30, of Alturas, and a 10-year-old juvenile. No injuries were reported.
Drugs or alcohol are not suspected of having contributed to the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
