A two-car crash at the base of Cuesta Grade caused significant traffic delays heading into San Luis Obispo on Friday afternoon, March 13, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at about 2:25 p.m. on the southbound side of Highway 101, just north of Reservoir Canyon Road. A Subaru and a Toyota collided, creating a hazard in the No. 1 lane of the highway.
Emergency responders initiated a traffic break at the summit of Cuesta Grade to manage the backup.
The collision resulted in one minor injury, as confirmed by police scanner communications.
The crash is under investigation.
