[03-13-2026] San Bernardino County, CA – Driver Detained After Suspected DUI Crash in Victorville.webpA female driver was detained on suspicion of driving under the influence after her vehicle overturned multiple times and crashed into a fire hydrant in Victorville on Friday, March 13, 2026.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the crash was reported at around 11:45 a.m. near Hesperia Road and Ottawa Street.

A silver 2006 Nissan Murano, occupied by the female driver and two small children, was traveling on Hesperia Road when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle overturned and struck a fire hydrant.

The impact caused the hydrant to rupture, sending gallons of water across the roadway and creating a sinkhole around the overturned vehicle, which came to rest on its roof and became partially submerged in water and dirt.

Fortunately, all occupants were able to exit the vehicle safely. Deputies conducted field sobriety tests on the driver, who was later detained and placed into a patrol vehicle on suspicion of DUI.

The investigation is ongoing.
