A man and woman were injured after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Shattuck Avenue in South Berkeley on Thursday night, March 12, 2026.
According to Berkeley police, the incident occurred shortly after 10:00 p.m. at the intersection of Shattuck Avenue and Prince Street.
Authorities stated that a 22-year-old man from Berkeley and a 21-year-old woman from Orinda were walking across Shattuck in a crosswalk when they were hit by a car traveling northbound.
Both pedestrians were taken to a hospital for treatment, but an update on their condition was not immediately available.
The driver of the vehicle, a 42-year-old man from Berkeley, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The incident is under investigation.
