A person was hospitalized after being injured in a hit-and-run crash involving a U-Haul van in Twentynine Palms on Saturday night, March 8, 2025.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the collision occurred around 9:15 p.m. near Twentynine Palms Highway and Mesquite Springs Road.
Authorities reported that the U-Haul, which had an Arizona license plate, struck another vehicle before fleeing the scene. The injured victim was transported to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.
Deputies later found the U-Haul van with damage consistent with a collision. The driver, a 40-year-old transient from Twentynine Palms, was detained but allegedly resisted arrest before being taken into custody.
He was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail for hit-and-run and resisting an officer.
The investigation is ongoing.
