A 47-year-old pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in the Park West neighborhood of San Diego on Thursday night, March 6, 2025.
According to the San Diego Police Department, officers responded to the crash at approximately 9:10 p.m. at the intersection of 2500 Sixth Avenue and 500 Maple Street.
Authorities reported that a 63-year-old man was driving a 2015 BMW sedan southbound on Sixth Avenue when he approached the intersection with Maple Street. The pedestrian was crossing Sixth Avenue in an unmarked crosswalk when the driver failed to yield and struck him.
The victim suffered a severe brain bleed, multiple leg fractures, and a pelvic fracture.
Police confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
