[03-04-2026] Siskiyou County, CA – Head-On Crash on County Road A-12 Sends Multiple People to Hospital.webpDrivers and their young passengers were hospitalized after a head-on crash near Grenada in Siskiyou County on Wednesday morning, March 4, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at 9:25 a.m. on County Road A-12 at Ralston Road. 

A Siskiyou County employee was driving a gold 2015 Ford Transit van eastbound at 55 mph when it abruptly swerved into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a 2022 Ford Escape driven by a 26-year-old Montague woman traveling westbound.

Witnesses and passersby immediately began assisting the injured before emergency responders arrived. The drivers were accompanied by juveniles in their vehicles, though the number of children and whether they were in the same car has not been disclosed.

The South Yreka Fire Protection District, Grenada Fire Protection District, and several other agencies responded to the scene. All involved were transported to Fairchild Medical Center. 

Both drivers and a child sustained major injuries, while another child had minor injuries. One child involved was not injured. 

CHP confirmed that all juveniles were properly restrained in child seats, and both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

The incident remains under investigation.
