Four people were killed in a fiery single-vehicle crash in Long Beach early Saturday morning, February 21, 2026.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, officers responded at about 1:20 a.m. to the area of East Spring Street and Lakewood Boulevard, near Long Beach Airport.
Investigators said a 2008 Honda Accord was traveling southbound on Lakewood Boulevard from Spring Street when it struck the center median curb, lost control, and collided with the underpass center support wall before becoming engulfed in flames.
Firefighters found a female occupant outside the vehicle, but she was pronounced dead at the scene despite lifesaving efforts. Three additional occupants were found deceased inside the burned vehicle. Police said the victims included two males and two females, though their ages have not been released.
Authorities stated that speed and impairment are being investigated as possible factors in the crash. The National Transportation Safety Board is expected to review the incident to determine whether broader safety concerns are involved.
The investigation remains ongoing.
