A semi-truck overturned due to high winds, leaving two adults and a minor with injuries in Desert Center, Riverside County, early Wednesday morning, February 18, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at around 3:20 a.m. on the westbound Interstate 10.
Authorities stated that a 2015 Freightliner, traveling about 55 mph in the No. 2 lane, was hit by a sudden gust of wind. The wind pushed the truck out of its lane, causing it to overturn onto a metal guardrail.
A 50-year-old woman was ejected from the truck and sustained severe injuries, while a 14-year-old boy reported leg pain. All three occupants were transported to Desert Region Medical Center in Palm Springs for treatment.
The incident remains under investigation.
