A motorist died after crashing into a tree on Highway 1 in Mendocino County on Monday, February 16, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Ukiah office, the crash was reported around 1:00 p.m. on a stretch of road between Gualala to the south and Point Arena to the north.
A man and a woman were inside a Chevrolet Silverado that was found with roof damage, CHP officials said.
There were no immediate reports indicating that weather played a role in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
