The incident occurred around 12:23 a.m. near Cannon Road when a motorcycle rear-ended a vehicle and went down in the lanes.

A sedan then struck the downed motorcycle, initiating a chain reaction involving three more vehicles. The sedan caught fire and was quickly engulfed, with the motorcycle trapped underneath.

Emergency units from the Carlsbad Fire Department, including Engine 101 and Truck 107, responded to the incident.

The details are still being investigated. No further information is immediately available.
