A bicyclist was killed in a crash with a vehicle in Cathedral City on Thursday night, February 12, 2026.
Authorities responded to the incident at around 10:55 p.m. at the intersection of Date Palm Drive and Ortega Road.
According to investigators, a vehicle traveling southbound on Date Palm Drive ran a red light and struck the bicyclist, who was traveling westbound through the crosswalk, also against a red light.
The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the vehicle was taken to a nearby hospital with minor facial injuries.
The identity of the victim will be released after the Coroner’s Office completes its investigation.
