[02-11-2025] At Least One Killed After Multi-Vehicle Crash on 5 FreewayAt least one person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on the northbound 5 Freeway in San Diego late Tuesday night, February 11, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 11:34 p.m. near Dairy Mart Road. 

Emergency responders arrived to find a blue SUV and another vehicle blocking the middle lanes of the freeway. One of the vehicles reportedly caught fire.

Authorities confirmed that at least one victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.

The crash blocked multiple lanes, prompting a SigAlert for two hours as authorities conducted their investigation.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
