[02-02-2026] San Diego County, CA – Motorcyclist Seriously Injured After Hit-and-Run Crash in Core-Columbia.webpA 38-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured following a hit-and-run collision in San Diego’s Core-Columbia neighborhood on Monday night, February 2, 2026.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the crash occurred at around 8:45 p.m. at the intersection of Broadway and Eighth Avenue. 

Investigators said a 2001 Dodge Dakota pickup truck was traveling the wrong way on a one-way street when it collided with a 2018 BMW motorcycle.

Police stated that the driver of the Dodge struck the motorcyclist and fled the scene. 

The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital with serious injuries, including a deep laceration to the left knee, discoloration to the tibia and fibula, and open abrasions.

Authorities reported that a suspect description was not immediately available. Anyone with information related to the incident is urged to contact the San Diego Police Department or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.

The investigation remains ongoing.
